This period introduces the idea that men wanted to make a difference in the world. An idea that a male will share is that of absolute authority on his own plantation. One term that can be pinned down on this is that of the yeoman farmer. A Yeomen farmer strived to become successful. Many wanted to own a huge plantation with lots of slaves.
